Be courageous

Growing the ability to be brave in any situation is difficult. Most of the time we’ll see all of our limitations before we decide to see any of the great possibilities. Take time to reflect (think, ponder, meditate, pray in silence) about 3 things you want to get done in the next year, in the next 5 years. See the possibilities, be courageous and ignore the limitations. Write them down somewhere and and make it a goal to get those things done. Be industrious though, make sure these are things in your control…for example, if winning the lottery is your goal, it may never happen since you have no control over it. Choose something you can accomplish and get done yourself, though it may not be easy, and it may take time, that’s where the courage comes in.

Check out Kim Ng, assistant General Manager for the Dodgers.

Instead of letting her limitations control her, she made a choice to see that the possibilities were greater. She didn’t let the fact that she was a small, petite, Asian-American woman who played softball limit her possibility of being a GM in a professional sport that values grit, size, being male, and though some won’t admit it, being white American (evidenced in the clip). She’s getting noticed and is continuing to be courageous by not letting her limitations control her.
